A pioneer in Material Science Research, Prof. Satapathi is best known for inventing the low-cost Solar Cells that use Indian summer fruit, Jamun, along with many other exciting discoveries to his credit. Proposed to be called “Satapathi Cells”, his work was identified as the “Second Highest Read Science Article” by The Hindu in 2017 and got intensive media coverage worldwide. Actively engaged in the scientific development of the society, Prof. Satapathi is the recipient of various national and international awards. A Bhaskara Advanced Solar Energy Awardee, Dr. Satapathi represented Energy Policy & Research Ecology in BRICS, 2017, China.
